Bakhita Villa opened in 2013 to help the victims of human trafficking. The congregation of Sisters of St. Louise in collaboration with an Italian NGO “Slaves No More” works towards rescuing and rehabilitating girls that have been trafficked to Europe. Bakhita Villa is a re-entry point for these trafficked girls who are housed for 2 years and helped to resettle back with their family. Presently, Bakhita Villa houses only 6 girls. To increase their ability to help more girls, the Sisters of St. Louise purchased an uncompleted building which was next to Bakhita Villa. Once completed, this building will house 12 ladies and have an Acquisition center. The funds of Small World will go towards refurnishing and repairing the building.
